So my dad is really hell bent on getting as much power out of our 318ti autocross car so we’re going to “ !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ” our airbox which just means adding another hole for air to enter. On our cars this has actually been shown to add about 3-4HP which is nice. He’s also been talking our mechanic who swears by Pulstar spark plugs and apparently thats enough for my dad. Now Im extremely skeptical that there’s anything to be gained with these spark plugs but the ones that are in there now are ancient and need to replaced anyway so I suppose theres no real harm in trying them for a few extra bucks.

Is that a sunroof? Remove the glass/any material in it for added lightness and lower centre of gravity.

Its a california roof, which is a large folding canvas roof. Awful for autocross but its too awesome to get rid of.

My mechanic friend says some cars actually lost power in dyno tests with pulstars.

I think some like iridium plugs might help burn the fuel more efficiently, I have a 240z so they say Dino oil and standard NGKs are best for me. I upgraded the ignition of course.

So adding a simple cone filter/intake would be scrutinized and put you in another class I take it? Its been so long im not sure whats where anymore. ..

How big of a hole in the airbox and where in relation to the filter?

There is no power in igniton. Allow me to repeat that. There is no power in ignition.
If the plugs are firing when they should, and are the correct heat range, there is no power in ignition.

We’re allowed to mess with the intake in our class but this is the best option available for our car

Believe me I dont think theres anything to be gained but my dad wants to try and we need new plugs anyway
